I don’t do too much nature photography. Last night my wife and us were sitting in our deck in the cottage drinking cold beer. My wife pointed out to me this woodpecker. I went to pick up my camera and my 200 mm Canon lens and hoped the bird will stay there for a few more minutes. When I came back the woodpecker still was there. It was getting dark and the bird was constantly moving. I needed higher shutter speed, so I cranked my ISO to 1000 and started shooting at 1/80 sec at f/2.8, ISO 1000 hand held.

Ok, I am taking a working vacation this week and will be spending my time in the family cottage. Last weekend was fun and hectic, two of my married children came to the cottage. I had the opportunity to bond with my grand children. Here is my granddaughter playing in her pool:

There aren’t too many photo opportunities in the cottage. I took some macro photography. Here is one of them:

This is all for today…

This is July 30th long weekend in Canada. I am also taking the first week of August off working from our Cottage in beautiful Gravenhurst , Lake Muskoka. We had excellent weather this summer so far and I sure hope that it will continue throughout the season. You never know the weather in Canada changes without a notice.
Enough for the weather! Today I am posting 3 photographs to follow the series of last week. Here they are:

Bulk Wassabi Peas
What I like in this photo is the metal scoop against green wassabi peas.

Roasted Chesnuts
I shot this photo in China. The color of roasted chestnuts in a wire basket on top of old wood tray were the elements that drew me into this picture.

Here again, the black metal tray and sesame bagels with some cheese on the side created a composition for me.
